Brian formed his first band in 1964, titled '1984'. They split up in 1968, and several months later he formed 'Smile' with Roger Taylor and Tim Staffell. They lasted for two years before splitting up, when Tim left and Freddie Mercury joined to form 'Queen'. John Deacon was added as bassist in 1971 and the group was born.
